BUZINESSHOURS

Keeping customers informed, effortlessly.

Keeping customers informed, effortlessly.

Introduction

BuzinessHours is a mobile app that helps businesses keep their operating hours accurate and up to date, ensuring customers always know when and how to reach them.

The product addresses a simple but critical issue: missed connections caused by outdated business information. By enabling real-time updates, BuzinessHours reduces customer frustration, improves access to services, and helps businesses maintain trust.

I worked on the first version of BuzinessHours in 2024. In 2025, the product underwent a rebrand, and I led the complete redesign across both the website and mobile app. The redesign focused on clarity, consistency, and creating a more dependable experience for both businesses and their customers.

Why Staying Informed Is Still Hard

Many customers rely on online information to decide when and where to visit a business. Unfortunately, that information is often outdated or inaccurate.

Businesses change their operating hours due to holidays, emergencies, or operational needs, but updating these changes across platforms is time-consuming and easy to overlook. As a result, customers arrive when businesses are closed, leading to frustration, lost trust, and missed opportunities.

For businesses, this disconnect means lost revenue, poor customer experience, and unnecessary support requests.

How BuzinessHours Solves It

BuzinessHours was designed to make updating and sharing business hours simple and reliable.

The app allows businesses to quickly update their operating hours and instantly notify customers of changes. Customers stay informed, while businesses maintain trust and accessibility without extra effort.

By focusing on clarity, real-time updates, and ease of use, BuzinessHours helps businesses communicate availability effectively and ensures customers can access services with confidence.

Design Focus

I worked on the first version of BuzinessHours in 2024. In 2025, while applying for a Google Business account, the product was rejected. That moment became a turning point.

The rejection pushed us to step back and evaluate what we had built. Through feedback and review, it became clear that the product was not positioned clearly enough. The design did not guide users quickly into understanding the core purpose of the app, and key flows lacked clarity.

I gathered insights from this evaluation and collaborated closely with the brand team to realign the product’s visual direction. We refined the color system to better reflect trust, reliability, and purpose.

I also worked closely with the content and copywriting team to simplify messaging and improve how the product communicates its value. The goal was a clearer, more intuitive experience that required less explanation and reduced user friction.

With the updated brand direction, refined copy, and validated insights, I redesigned the entire experience across the website and mobile app.

The product has since received approval for Google Business, and I continue to collaborate with the marketing team, ensuring product messaging and UX decisions remain aligned and consistent.

Solving a UX Problem

As design and development progressed, certain gaps surfaced during handoff and implementation. These moments often reveal where clarity is missing or where real user behavior challenges initial assumptions.

One issue we identified was the lack of a clear entry point for returning users, for example, users installing the app on a new device who simply wanted to log in. The existing screen was visually clean and felt complete, which made the gap easy to overlook at first.

After reviewing the flow and iterating, I introduced a compact approach that combined the registration and login entry points into a single, clear action. This ensured returning users could quickly access their accounts without adding visual clutter or unnecessary complexity.

The result was a more inclusive and intuitive entry experience, accommodating both new and returning users while preserving the simplicity of the interface.
